Tools for Problem Analysis
Tandem provides a variety of tools to help you analyze any problems that may be
occurring in your environment. These tools include:

Event Management Service (EMS) Analyzer
•
Tandem Failure Data System (TFDS)
Event Management Service (EMS) Analyzer
The EMS Analyzer product selects events from EMS log files. You specify parameters,
such as subsystem ID, event number, text, start time, and stop time. EMS Analyzer
allows you to examine and analyze information about the devices, subsystems, and
applications on your system, without having to write and compile your own filters using
the EMS filter language.
EMS Analyzer allows you to examine your problem data in multiple ways, thus
shedding new light on the problem. For example, looking at the time sequence of events
may help you identify the various components involved in a problem situation. An
example of selected EMS event messages displayed in text format is shown below:
