Configuring Asynchronous Terminal and
Serial Printer Connections
This section describes how to configure asynchronous connections for Tandem 6530
terminals, 6530-compatible terminals, VT-series terminals, workstation-based 6530
terminal emulators, workstation-based VT-series terminal emulators, and serial printers.
Sample Configuration
Figure 8-1 shows a sample configuration with simultaneous support for a directly
connected 6530 terminal, a directly connected VT-series terminal, a remotely connected
6530 terminal, and a serial printer.
+
Note. You can also configure the AWAN access server to provide remote-node access for
Macintosh, DOS, and Windows computers. With remote-node access, a remote workstation
can use a 6530 or VT-series terminal emulator to access 6530 applications and function as if it
were directly connected to the local area network (LAN). For information about remote-node
access, refer to Section 9, Configuring Remote Access Connections
.
