Configuring Terminal Connections
Step 3: Configuring Advanced Line Properties
The Adv. Line tab dialog box enables you to configure how you want asynchronous
terminal or terminal emulator users to connect to the Himalaya NonStop server
application. You can configure automatic port login, which is referred to as the
Autoconnect feature in this manual, or manual port login.
Step Action Comments
1. Choose the line speed from the Speed
drop-down list box.
The line speed you choose must match the
line speed used by your terminal,
workstation, or modem.
Note: 6530 terminals operate at line
speeds up to 19200. Some VT-series
terminals and terminal emulators operate
at faster speeds.
2. Choose the flow control type from the
Flow Control drop-down list box.
The flow control type you choose must
match the flow control type used by your
terminal, workstation, or modem.
3. Choose the parity type from the Parity
drop-down list box.
The parity type you choose must match the
parity type used by your terminal,
workstation, or modem.
4. Click the option button for the number
of stop bits in the Stop bits area.
The number of stop bits you choose must
match the number of stop bits used by
your terminal, workstation, or modem.
5. Click the option button for the
character size in the Char Size area.
The character size you choose must match
the character size used by your terminal,
workstation, or modem.
6. Click the option button for the
hardware interface in the Hardware
Interface area.
Notes:
For RS-232/20ma Current Loop Port
Modules, the Port Properties Line screen
displays a Hardware Interface box that
displays radio-button choices for RS-232
and 20ma Current Loop.
For Current Loop only port modules and
for RS-232 Asynchronous port modules,
the Hardware Interface box is not
displayed.
7. Click Apply.
