Configuring Terminal Connections
Configuring the Autoconnect Feature
When the Autoconnect feature is enabled, the AWAN access server login and local
prompts are bypassed and users are connected directly to the Himalaya NonStop server
application; automatic port logout occurs when the session ends.
To enable the Autoconnect feature, you must configure certain settings on the Adv. Line
tab dialog box. These required settings are described in Table 8-2.
Configuring Manual Port Login
When manual port login is configured, the AWAN access server Local> prompt is
displayed on the terminal or terminal emulator screen and the user must type Command
Line Interface (CLI) commands to start a session on the NonStop server.
Configuring manual port login is described in Using the Adv. Line Tab Dialog Box
.
Establishing a session when manual login is configured is described in Starting a Telnet
Session on page C-13.
Note. You can configure the Autoconnect feature for 6530 terminals and terminal emulators.
You can also configure the Autoconnect feature for VT-series terminals and terminal emulators
using VT-to-6530 protocol conversion. AWAN access server models 3883-8R, 3883-16R, 3884-
R, and 3884-R support VT-to-6530 protocol conversion.
