Configuring Terminal Connections
Step Action Comments
1. To configure the Autoconnect feature,
type GUEST in the Username text box.
For manual port login, type any valid
user name in the Username text box.
Do not leave this text box blank.
2. Type the TCP port number used by the
Telserv process in the Dest. Port text
box.
Use the TCP port number (if any)
recorded in the TCP Port Number line of
your Asynchronous Terminal Port
Configuration Worksheet.
Default: If this text box is left blank, the
well-known Telnet TCP port 23 is
assumed.
3. Type the IP address or host name that
identifies the Himalaya NonStop server
in the Preferred Host (Telserv Host) text
box.
Use the IP address or host name recorded
on the IP Address line of your
Asynchronous Terminal Port
Configuration Worksheet.
If you are configuring manual port login,
this text box specifies the IP address or
host name of the default host used for the
CLI Connect command. Refer to Connect
Command on page C-13 for more
information.
4. Type a Telserv window or service name
in the Node (Telserv Service/Window)
text box.
Specify a service name for a static or
dynamic service configuration or a
window name for an SU window
configuration. Use the service name or
window name (if any) recorded on the
Service Name or Window Name line of
your Asynchronous Terminal Port
Configuration Worksheet.
If a service or window name is specified,
the AWAN access server “types” the
specified name in response to the Telserv
Enter Choice> prompt.
If a service or window name is not
specified, the user must type the name of
the desired service or window at the
Telserv Enter Choice> prompt.
5. Choose a terminal type from the Term
Type drop-down list box.
Select 6530 or VT65 to use the
Autoconnect feature.
Select 6530 for 6530 family terminals
and emulators, and VT65 to support both
6530 devices and VT100/ANSI terminals
and emulators using the 6530 emulation
feature.
