Step 2: Configuring Advanced Line Properties
New print jobs from FASTPTCP are allowed according to the Term Type setting on the
Adv. Line tab dialog box as follows:
Set Term Type to Hardcopy.
To configure advanced line properties, click the Adv. Line tab. The Adv. Line tab dialog
box is displayed as shown in Figure 8-7
.
Hardcopy Specifies that the session is only allowed when the CTS signal
is present. (The CTS signal generally indicates that the printer
is powered on, is online, and is ready to accept data.) This
setting prevents the AWAN access server from accepting the
beginning portion of a Spooler job, or even an entire small job,
when it is out of paper or is otherwise unavailable. In this
situation, print data might remain invisibly buffered within the
AWAN access server until the printer is ready.
Any setting except
Hardcopy
Specifies that print data is accepted by the AWAN access
server as long as the DSR signal is present at the port.
