Remote-Control Access Configuration
Figure 9-3 shows an AWAN access server in a remote-control access configuration. In
this example, a PC can dial into the AWAN access server and, by using remote-control
software, control the keyboard, mouse, and monitor on a PC connected to the LAN.
How It Works
Workstations connected to the AWAN access server using remote access connections
can access the same Tandem NonStop TCP/IP subsystem features (Telnet, File Transfer
Protocol (FTP), and so forth) that are available to workstations connected to the same
LAN as the AWAN access server. The AWAN access server simply passes through all
Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) frames from the workstation
to the LAN.
This remainder of this subsection describes how the AWAN access server supports
remote-node access, remote-office access, and remote-control access.
