Configuration Considerations
This subsection describes configuration considerations for remote-node access, remote-
control access, and 6530 emulators.
Remote-Node Configuration
Remote access sessions usually start transparently. However, certain older remote access
clients require manual selection of the remote access protocol at the AWAN access
server before turning control over to the workstation remote access client. Refer to
Session Protocol Selection on page C-8 for more information.
Remote-Control Host Computer Configuration
If you installed the Com Port to NASI Redirector for Windows application, perform the
following steps to use a virtual port on the AWAN access server for remote-control
access:
1. Select the communications port redirected by the Com Port to NASI Redirector. The
port must be redirected to a remote-control port on the AWAN access server.
2. Configure the communications port for hardware flow control. This option is usually
located with the communications port option and may be shown as RTS or CTS.
