Configuring the 6530 Gateway Feature
This section describes how to configure the 6530 gateway feature for local area network
(LAN)-attached workstation-based VT-series terminal emulators and VT-series
terminals attached to a Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)
terminal server. The 6530 gateway feature is supported on the 3883-8R, 3883-16R,
3884R, and 3885R AWAN access server models only.
Sample Configuration
Figure 10-1 shows an AWAN access server in a 6530 gateway configuration. In this
example, a VT100 terminal connected to a TCP/IP terminal server and a LAN-attached
workstation-based VT-series terminal emulator can use Telnet to access a 6530
application on the Tandem NonStop server.
Note. VT-series terminals and workstation-based VT-series terminal emulators can also be
connected asynchronously to the AWAN access server and can access 6530 applications. For
information about this type of configuration, refer to Section 8, Configuring Asynchronous
Terminal and Serial Printer Connections.
