Function-Key Mapping
In addition, the EXT key is used with five other alphabetic keys to generate the other ten
6530 function keys. As shown in Figure 10-3, the EXT key is pressed, followed by
either N, P, I, U or D. Table 10-2 shows these additional mappings.
Some VT-series terminals, such as the VT220, have function keys that are recognized
and converted to 6530 functions as shown in Table 10-3
. The mappings shown in the
rightmost column of Table 10-3 are affected when the VT-series terminal function key is
preceded by the EXT key.
If the VT-series terminal does not have a number pad or if a VT100 emulator is being
used on a workstation, the AWAN access server implements a signal window capability
that permits the entry of all 6530 function keys as well as several special functions. The
signal window commands are shown in Table 10-4
.
