Configuring Telnet Dial-Out Connections
Configuring Telnet dial-out involves a number of tasks. Table 11-1 describes each task in
the order in which it should be performed.
Finally, you should save and store your configuration changes as described in Saving a
Configuration File on page 5-27 and Storing a Configuration File on page 5-29.
Configuring a Telnet Dial-Out Port on an AWAN Access Server
To configure a Telnet dial-out port on an AWAN access server, you must perform the
following steps:
1. Configure line and modem properties for the modem port module port or
asynchronous port where the external modem is connected.
2. Configure advanced line properties for the modem port module port or
asynchronous port where the external modem is connected.
3. Reset the port.
Step 1: Configuring Line and Modem Properties
The following values must be configured for the modem port module port or
asynchronous port where the external modem is connected:
•
Choose CTS/RTS from the Flow Control drop-down list box on the Line tab dialog
box.
•
Type ATE1Q0 in the Initialization String text box on the Modem tab dialog box.

Configuring Modem Connections.

workstation to dial out of the AWAN access
server.
Note. Accessing the menus used to perform the configuration tasks described in this
subsection is explained in Section 5, Using the RAS Management Tool.
Note. You do not need to set the modem initialization string for modem port modules ports.
