Configuring a NASI Dial-Out Port on the AWAN
Access Server
Step 1: Configuring Line and Modem Properties
The following values must be configured for the modem port module port or
asynchronous port where the external modem is connected:
Choose CTS/RTS from the Flow Control drop-down list box on the Line tab dialog
box.
Type ATE1Q0 in the Initialization String text box on the Modem tab dialog box.
Configuring line and modem properties for modems is explained in Section 12,
Configuring Modem Connections.
Step 2: Configuring Advanced Line Properties
Choose Remote from the Access drop-down list box on the Adv. Line tab dialog box for
the port. Although the other values on the Adv. Line tab are not relevant for dial-out
ports, Term Type ANSI is recommended.
To display the Adv. Line tab dialog box, choose Properties... from the Port-Specific
menu and then click the Adv. Line tab. Figure 11-2
shows the Adv. Line tab dialog box
with Term Type ANSI and Access Remote selected.
Note. You do not need to set the modem initialization string for modem port modules ports.
Note. Access dynamic is not recommended because it might allow stray input from the
modem to prevent remote access to the port.
