Access Server
Step 3: Resetting a Port
After you have modified the properties of a port, you must reset the port to implement
the configuration changes in the AWAN access server’s operational database.
To reset a port, choose Reset from the Port-Specific Menu. The Port Reset dialog box is
displayed as shown in Figure 11-3
. Click the check box next to port you want to reset
and then click OK. Your changes may take a few seconds to be implemented.
Configuring NASI Dial-Out Users on the AWAN Access Server
To configure NASI dial-out users on an AWAN access server, you must perform the
following steps:
1. Add or modify existing user names for NASI dial-out.
2. Enable NASI dial-out for the users you added or modified in Step 1.
3. Synchronize the local and server user databases.
Step 1: Adding or Modifying a User Name for NASI Dial-Out
To add or modify a NASI dial-out user, choose Users... from the Server Characteristics
and Properties menu. The User Database dialog box is displayed as shown in
Figure 11-6
.
Caution. Do not delete or assign a password to the GUEST user name. The GUEST user
name is required for the Autoconnect feature. It is provided by default and is defined without a
password. If the GUEST user name is deleted or is given a password, the Autoconnect feature
cannot be used.
