Configuring Line Properties

To configure line properties, click the Line tab. The Line tab dialog box is displayed as

shown in Figure 12-2.

Step Action Comments

1. Choose the line speed from the Speed

drop-down list box.

Use the highest speed supported by the

asynchronous port of the modem, which

can be faster than the maximum analog

connection speed of the modem. Most

modems support speed 115200.

2. Choose the flow control type from the

Flow Control drop-down list box.

CTS is recommended and is usually

required.

3. Choose the parity type from the Parity

drop-down list box.

None is the setting most commonly used.

4. Click the option button for the number

of stop bits in the Stop Bits area.

1 is the setting most commonly used.
