Resetting a Port
To initiate a soft or factory reset, choose Reset from the Server Characteristics and
Properties menu and then select Soft or Factory. The RAS Management Tool displays a
dialog box to verify your request. Click Yes to proceed or No to cancel.
After a factory reset, do not reboot or power off the AWAN access server for at least 30
seconds after the first reboot is complete or the reset will be lost.
Resetting a Port
After you have modified the properties of a port, you must reset the port to implement
the configuration changes in the AWAN access server’s operational database.
To reset a port, choose Reset from the Port-Specific menu. The Port Reset dialog box is
displayed as shown in Figure 14-16
.
Click the check box next to the port you want to reset and then click OK. Your changes
may take a few seconds to be implemented.
Note. If you choose factory reset and are using IP, your AWAN access server must be
assigned an IP address before it can be discovered by the RAS Management Tool. Assigning
an IP address is explained in Understanding the Discovery Process
on page 5-4.
Note. Unlike resetting an AWAN access server, resetting a port does not change the port
parameters to the factory default settings.
