Disabling a Port
Disabling a Port
To disable a port, choose Disable from the Port-Specific menu. The Disable dialog box
is displayed as shown in Figure 14-17.
Click the check box next to the port you want to disable and then click OK.
Compaq support recommends that you disable a port by choosing None from the Access
drop-down list box on the Adv. Line tab dialog box. To display the Adv. Line tab dialog
box, choose Properties... from the Port-Specific menu and then click the Adv. Line tab.
The Adv. Line tab dialog box is shown in Figure 14-18
with the None access type
selected.

Note. The Disable dialog box is available for RS-232 Asynchronous port modules and
R-232/20mA Current Loop port modules only; it is not available for modem port modules and
AWAN access server 3883-8, 3883-8R, 3883-16, and 3883-16R models.
