Updating the AWAN Access Server Software
in this mode, but other gateways will fail some or all of the time. This could result in a
TFTP update failure, leaving the old AWAN runtime firmware in place.
The Gateway Address field on the TFTP Update screen is initialized with the value from
the Gateway Address field on the Server Properties IP screen. If the value is changed on
the TFTP Update screen, it is also be changed on the Server Properties IP screen. After
TFTP update is complete, set the original Gateway Address value using the Server
Properties IP screen.
To avoid this problem, leave the Gateway Address as 0.0.0.0, or change it to 0.0.0.0
Updating the AWAN Access Server Software
You can download the current code releases of the RAS Management Tool Software
Utilities from the Access Beyond Web site. (Accessing the Access Beyond Web site is
described in Updating the AWAN Access Server Firmware
on page 14-25.)
The RAS Management Tool is provided as two .ZIP files, which correspond to the two
floppy disks labeled Management. The Software Utilities software is also provided as
two .ZIP files, which correspond to the two floppy disks labeled Software Utilities.
For installation instructions, refer to Section 3, Installing the Software
. You can verify
that the update of the RAS Management Tool software was successful by choosing Help
from the RAS Management Tool menu bar and checking the software version displayed.
