Problems
Problem The terminal or workstation does not log into the AWAN access server
when you press the Enter key.
Solution Try pressing the Enter key three times. If a Login: prompt appears,
make sure the following settings are configured correctly for the port:
•
6530 is selected in the Term Type drop-down list box on the Adv. Line
tab dialog box.
•
Dynamic or Local is selected in the Access drop-down list box on the
Adv. Line tab dialog box.
•
The Speed, Parity, and Char Size settings on the Line tab dialog box
match those configured for the terminal or workstation.
Configuring these values is explained in Configuring Port Properties on
the AWAN Access Server on page 8-20.
Problem The terminal or workstation connects to the Himalaya NonStop server
application but displays garbled screens, especially repeated C@ and BA
characters, which are sometimes preceded by nondisplayable characters.
Solution This problem occurs on AWAN access server models 3883-8, 3883-16,
3884, or 3885 when the port is configured for Term Type 6530 and a non-
6530 terminal or terminal emulator is used. You must use Term Type
ANSI for non-6530 terminals. Selecting the correct Term Type is
explained in Configuring Port Properties on the AWAN Access Server
on
page 8-20.
VT-to-6530 protocol translation is available on AWAN access server
models 3883-8R, 3883-16R, 3884-R, and 3885R only.
