RAS Management Tool Problems
Problem The RAS Management Tool did not discover a module.
Solution Try to determine the cause of the problem by performing on or more of
the following tasks:
•
Make sure the module is powered on.
•
Disconnect power and reseat the module in the AWAN access server.
•
If you are using an IP network, make sure the AWAN access server
has been assigned an IP address. For information on assigning IP
addresses, refer to Understanding the Discovery Process
on page 5-4.
Problem For 3884 and 3885 models, the rear panel view shows all
port-module slots as blank panels.
Solution Port Module Slot 1 must contain a port module:
•
For 3884 models, Slot 1 is at the left when facing the rear
panel, farthest from the power supply.
•
For 3885 models, Slot 1 is at the upper left when facing the
rear panel.
Move port modules as follows:
1. Disconnect power from the unit.
2. Move the port modules into a valid configuration.
3. Reconnect power with factory configuration reset.
4. Reconfigure the server.
