Problem Reporting
Problem Reporting
If you should require assistance from your Compaq support representative to solve a
problem, please gather the following information about your AWAN access server:
•
The model of your AWAN access server.
•
The runtime and boot code versions running on your AWAN access server. To
determine the runtime and boot code versions, refer to Checking the Boot Code
Vers io n on page 14-25 and Checking the Runtime Code Version on page 14-25.
•
The port modules installed on your AWAN access server.
•
Your port configurations.
•
Your modem settings (if external modems are installed). This information is
displayed on the Modem tab dialog box and the Line tab dialog box.
•
A copy of the most recent logging record file for your AWAN access server. To
enable logging to a file, refer to Configuring Logging Properties on page 6-8. You
should set the priority level to Verbose on the Logging index tab dialog box.
•
The LAN configuration from the AWAN access server to the Himalaya NonStop
server, including routers.
•
For terminals, the terminal type, configuration settings, and terminal firmware
version.
•
For terminal emulators, the terminal emulator name, version, configuration, and the
name and version of the workstation operating system.
9) Enable/Disable Options This option enables you to set the option flags. This
function requires a password to operate. You can obtain
further information regarding this functionality from
your Compaq Representative.
10) Software Update This option enables you to update the boot and runtime
code. Refer to Updating the AWAN Access Server
Firmware on page 14-25 for more information.
11) Console Setup This option enables you to set the baud rate for the
console port. It displays the Console Setup Menu. See
Figure 14-24 on page 14-28 for more information.
12) Reboot This option enables you to reboot a module.
13) Jump to Runtime This option enables you to jump to the runtime code.
Note. Failed AWAN access server hardware should be returned using the normal Logistics
channels or normal return department.
