Enabling Privileged Mode
Enabling Privileged Mode
At login time, a session is in unprivileged mode. In unprivileged mode, commands are
limited to displaying existing parameters and status and to modifying a subset of the
parameters for the current port.
You can place a session in privileged mode using the Set Priv command. When a
session is in privileged mode, you can modify settings for other ports and for the entire
AWAN access server and can control most aspects of AWAN access server operation.
To enable privileged mode for the current port login, perform the following steps:
1. Type the Set Priv command at the Local> prompt.
Local> Set Priv
The AWAN access server then prompts you for the privileged password.
Password>
2. Type the current privileged password at the Password> prompt and then press the
Enter key. (The default privileged password is system.)
Password> *****
The password is not echoed to the screen. If the password is at the default value, a
reminder is displayed to change the password for improved security as follows:
*Please use Change Server Privileged Password to
change default setting
Finally, another Local> prompt is displayed and privileged mode is enabled.
Disabling Privileged Mode
To disable privileged mode, log out of the port or use the following command:
Set Nopriv
