Configuring Initial IP Address Information
Configuring Initial IP Address Information
You can use the following procedure to configure initial IP address information for the
AWAN access server. (User input is shown in boldface type.)
1. Connect a terminal or workstation running a terminal emulator to one of the AWAN
access server’s asynchronous ports.
2. Set the terminal or emulator to 19200 baud and 7E1 parity (7 bits, even parity, 1 stop
bit).
3. Power on the AWAN access server.
4. Wait approximately 40 seconds for the terminal to become active and then press the
Enter key. Messages similar to the following should be displayed:
Connected to AWAN Server TS00FA08 Port PORT_1
... using port default username ...
... Bypassing protocol menu ...

5. Enable privileged mode by typing the Set Priv command at the Local> prompt:
Local> Set priv
The Password> prompt is displayed.
6. Type the current privileged password at the Password> prompt:
Password> system
The Local> prompt is displayed.
7. Set the AWAN access server’s IP address using the Change Internet Address
command at the Local> prompt:
Local> Change Internet Address ip-address
where ip-address is the IP address you want to assign.
8. To override the default subnet mask, type the Change Internet Mask command at the
Local> prompt:
Local> Change Internet Mask ip-address
where ip-address is the subnet mask you want to assign. The RAS Management
Tool will now automatically connect if the AWAN access server is on the same
subnet as the management workstation. Allow one minute for the discovery cycle.
