Enter Username> Prompt
This sequence is equivalent to hex 1b 5b 30 6d.
Next, the AWAN access server sends the following VT100 sequence to disable
autowrap:
ESC [?71
This sequence is equivalent to hex 1b 5b 3f 37 6c.
Term Type 6530, Non-R Models
Because AWAN access server models 3883-8, 3883-16, 3884, and 3885 do not support
VT-to-6530 protocol conversion, no probe is required. The AWAN access server
assumes a 6530 terminal is connected and displays the following message:
6530 terminal type assumed
Port Type 6530, Remote Telnet Client (6530 Gateway)
When a remote Telnet client starts a session on TCP port 23 (the well-known Telnet TCP
port number), the AWAN access server assumes a VT100 terminal and displays the
following message:
VT100-Ansi terminal type assumed
Enter Username> Prompt
At factory configuration reset time, the user name configured for the port defaults to
GUEST for RS-232 Asynchronous port module ports, RS-232/20mA Current Loop port
module ports, and all 3883 model ports. The user name defaults to blank for modem port
modules and other ports. (A user name may be configured for a port on the Adv. Line
tab dialog box in the RAS Management Tool or by using the Change Port Username
command.)
If the port user name is not blank, the session proceeds immediately to the Local>
prompt. If the port user name is blank, the AWAN access server displays the following
prompt:
Enter Username>
Any nonblank text is permitted in response to the Enter Username> prompt; the
response is never used. The port user name should always be set to a nonblank value to
avoid this prompt.
Note. The AWAN access server does not support remote 6530 clients; any workstation
running a TN6530 Telnet client can bypass the AWAN access server and connect a session
directly to the Tandem NonStop server.
