Starting a Telnet Session

The user presses the Enter key once and the following messages are displayed:

Starting a Telnet Session
You can use the following CLI commands to start a Telnet session.
Connect Command
Use this command to connect to a Tandem NonStop server when manual port login is
configured.
host
may be a dotted IP address or a host name to be resolved by a domain name server
(DNS).
If this parameter is specified, the host information configured on the Adv. Line tab in
the RAS Management Tool or by the Change Port Preferred command is not used.
Connection is always made to the well-known Telnet TCP port number 23.
If this parameter is omitted, a connection is made according to the Preferred Service
(Telserv Host) setting on the Adv. Line tab in the RAS Management Tool or by the
value configured using the Change Port Preferred command. If the host is not
configured using either of these methods, then the command is rejected.
