Telnet Command
Telnet Command
Use this command to start a Telnet session to connect to a Tandem NonStop server or
other host.
host
may be a dotted IP address or a host name to be resolved by a domain name server
(DNS).
tcp-port
is used to specify a TCP port number other than 23. If this parameter is omitted, the
well-known Telnet TCP port number 23 is used.
Diagnosing Problems
You can use the following CLI commands to obtain status information about, verify
connectivity for, and reset ports on the AWAN access server.
Change Port Interface Command
Use this command to change the electrical interface for ports on a RS232/Current-Loop
Port module:
RS232
specifies RS232.
CL
specifies 20 milliampere current loop.
Telnet host [ tcp-port ]
Note. Unlike the Connect command, the Telnet command does not use the host information
configured on the Adv. Line tab in the RAS Management Tool or by the Change Port Preferred
command.
Note. More useful CLI commands are described in Common CLI Commands
on page C-20.
Change Port [port-list] Interface RS232|CL
Note. Current Loop requires different cabling from RS-232, and the connected device
must match the interface setting.
The Change Port Interface command is only allowed on port modules that allow both
RS-232 and Current Loop.
