Show Port Status Command
Show Port Status Command
Use this command to display status information for a specified port.
port-list
specifies the physical port or ports on the AWAN access server for which you want
to display status information. If this parameter is omitted, the status for the current
port is displayed.
The following are considerations for the Show Port Status command:
Status Idle is displayed if the port is logged out.
Status Local mode is displayed if the port is logged in with a Local> prompt or if a
login is in progress.
Status Connected is displayed if a session is active with a remote host.
Output Signals indicates the state of the DTR and RTS modem signals.
Input Signals indicates the state of the signals CTS and DSR.
None of the other display information is relevant. XOFFed is always “No.
In session with IP address: x.x.x.
is displayed if the session is connected to a host system.
RQ to device: (DIS) nnn
nnn is the number of bytes queued awaiting transmission to the async port; (DIS)
indicates that the queue is disabled, usually due to flow control asserted by the
remote device; NONE indicates that the queue does not exist. The byte count does
not include the 1 or 2 buffer(s) already sent to the asynchronous hardware.
WQ to host: (DIS) nnn
nnn is the number of bytes queued awaiting transmission to the remote host.
Type-ahead: nnn
is the number of bytes received from the async device but not yet processed by a
read-type operation from the host application.

Note. DCD always has the same value as DSR. Normally the DCD signal from a modem is
connected the AWAN DSR pin. Lack of any signals suggests a disconnected cable or
powered-off device. Lack of the CTS signal suggests that the device is flow-stopped, such as
printer that is out of paper.
