Port Advanced Line Commands
The default is GUEST for RS-232 Asynchronous port module ports, RS-232/20mA
Current Loop port module ports, and all 3883 model ports. The default is blank for
modem port module ports.
Change Port Preferred Command
Use this command to specify the IP address of a host, a Telserv service or window
name, and a TCP port number for a port:
port-list
specifies the physical port or ports on the AWAN access server. If this parameter is
omitted, the current port is assumed.
host
may be a dotted IP address, a host name to be resolved by domain name server
(DNS), or a null string (the default). For information about determining the IP
address for a Tandem NonStop server, refer to Displaying IP Addresses
on page 8-7.
nnn
may be a Telserv service or window name. For information about determining this
value, refer to Step 5: Adding Services and Windows on page 8-11.
tcp-port
is the TCP port number for the Telserv process. The default is the well-known Telnet
TCP port number 23. For information about determining this value, refer to
Displaying TCP Port Numbers on page 8-10.
Change Port Autoconnect Command
Use this command to enable or disable the Autoconnect feature for a port.
port-list
specifies the physical port or ports on the AWAN access server. If this parameter is
omitted, the current port is assumed.
Note. Do not use this command for remote Telnet (6530 gateway) ports. Refer to Port L0
Commands on page C-29 for the correct command syntax.
