Software Utilities Floppy Disks
The Software Utilities floppy disks contain two applications:
•
Com Port to NASI Redirector for Windows
•
INT14 to NASI Redirector for DOS
The Com Port to NASI Redirector for Windows application enables a PC connected to a
Novell NetWare network to redirect a serial communications port to a Network
Asynchronous Services Interface (NASI) service. The INT14 to NASI Redirector for
DOS application enables a PC connected to a Novell NetWare network to support NASI.
The Redirector applications are required on PCs used to dial-out from the AWAN access
server to a Novell NetWare network.
For more information about the Redirector applications, refer to Software for Novell
NetWare Networks on page 9-11.
Installing the Management Software
To install the Management software, perform the following steps:
1. Insert the Management floppy disk numbered 1 into your floppy drive (usually
called A or B).
2. Start the installation program:
•
Windows 3.11 or Windows NT 3.51: Start Windows and choose Run from the
File menu in the Program Manager. Type a:\setup (or b:\setup) and then
press the Enter key.
•
Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0: Start Windows and then start Explorer.
Double-click on the drive where you inserted the floppy disk; finally, double-
click on Setup.exe.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the Management software. A message
appears when the installation is complete.
For Windows 3.11 and Windows NT 3.51, the installation program creates a program
group called RAS Management in the Program Manager. For Windows 95 and Windows
NT 4.0, the installation program creates a new item in the Start button menu called RAS
Management.
Note. Exit any running applications before you begin the following installation procedure.
