Summary of Configuration Tasks
Configuring SNMP Properties You can configure your AWAN access server to respond
to Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)
programs such as HP OpenView, SUNNET Manager, and
Castlerock SNMP.
Default: Your AWAN access server will only respond to
the RAS Management Tool.
Configuring Logging Properties You can set up an activity log for your AWAN access
server, set the priority level for logging entries, indicate
where logging information is saved, and configure the
maximum number of logging entries allowed. You can
also disable logging.
Default: An activity log is kept but entries are not saved
to a file. The maximum number of entries allowed is
1000.
Configuring Accounting
Properties
You can track remote access to your AWAN access server
by user name, time and date of login, length of time
before logging out, port number, and protocol used.
Default: Accounting information is archived as a
background task by the RAS Management Tool.
Accounting record files are stored in the C:\Rasmgmt
folder. The file naming convention for accounting record
files is the last part of the media access control (MAC)
address with the extension .ACR. (For example:
30-17-F8.ACR.)
Note. Accessing the menus used to perform the following configuration steps is described in
Section 5, Using the RAS Management Tool.
