Installing Software

Installing Backup and Restore 2 to Support Open System Services (OSS)

To back up or restore OSS objects:

1. Install OSS

2. For the G06.23 RVU, install:



The tape process T0021ABH or a superseding SPR



The Backup and Restore 2 AAB SPRs on page 2-2 or superseding SPRs

For additional defect repair, you can install the

Backup and Restore 2 AAC SPRs on page 2-2 or superseding SPRs.

3. For the G06.24 RVU, the AAB SPRs are included. For additional defect repair, you

can install the Backup and Restore 2 AAC SPRs on page 2-2 or superseding

SPRs.

4. Install all corequisite SPRs

Installing Backup and Restore 2 to Support SQL/MX

To back up or restore SQL/MX objects:

1. Install SQL/MX

2. For the G06.23 RVU, install the tape process T0021ABH or a superseding SPR.

3. For the G06.23 and G06.24 RVUs, install the Backup and Restore 2 AAC SPRs on

page 2-2 or the superseding SPRs.

4. Install all corequisite SPRs

Installing the Heap Manager

If you plan to back up more than a few thousand objects in a job, HP recommends that

you install the NSK CRE/RTL (T1269) heap manager or run multiple jobs with fewer

objects. Both the Native CRE/RTL (T8431) heap manager and NSK CRE/RTL (T1269)

heap manager are present on SUTs starting with the G06.15 RVU. By default the

Native CRE/RTL (T8431) heap manager is installed. To install NSK CRE/RTL (T1269),

see Support Note S02001 for migration considerations and S03104 for installation

instructions. A system load is required.
