The following functions are HP extensions that provide specific control over the HP C

and C++ environment on NonStop systems:

chvol()

heap_check()

heap_check_always()

terminate_program()

get_param_by_name() Retrieves the value of the parameter that

corresponds to the parameter name requested.

get_param_msg() Retrieves the PARAM message.
