Audience
Audience
This guide is intended for systems and applications programmers familiar with the C
and C++ programming languages, HP NonStop servers, and the HP NonStop OS. This
manual does not describe the C/C++ standards, but does describe HP extensions and
enhancements to the standards, in addition to implementation-defined behavior.
Documentation Set Organization
The HP C and C++ D-series documentation set for NonStop servers evolved to support
the Open System Services (OSS) environment and native mode C and C++, as shown
in Figure i on page -xxx.
At the D30.00 RVU:
°
The C Reference Manual was divided into two manuals:
The C Programmer’s Guide
The Guardian C Library Calls Reference Manual
°
The Open System Services Library Calls Reference Manual was added to
document the C run-time library in the OSS environment
At the D40.00 RVU:
°
The C++ Users Guide and the C Programmer’s Guide were combined into one
manual: the C/C++ Programmers Guide.
°
The Guardian C Library Calls Reference Manual was retitled to Guardian TNS
C Library Calls Reference Manual.
°
The Guardian TNS/R Native C Library Calls Reference Manual was added to
document the native C run-time library in the Guardian environment. This
manual shares most of its material with the Open System Services Library
Calls Reference Manual.
The G-series and H-series documentation set retains this organization. However, at the
G06.26 and H06.01 RVUs, the Guardian TNS/R Native C Library Calls Reference
Manual was retitled as the Guardian Native C Library Calls Reference Manual to allow
description of TNS/E library features in the same manual.
