CORBA 2.3.3 Administration Guide (NonStop CORBA 2.3.3+)

Security Domains
A security domain contains the process and configuration data that are manageable under a user name
and password. An initial security domain is created when you install the product. If you choose to do so,
you can define additional security domains for a host system. A security domain is composed of one or
more business domains.

Adding a New Security Domain
Add additional security domains if, for example, you want to partition your system. Each security
domain corresponds to a Guardian user logon. The processes created under a given security domain have
access rights corresponding to the user ID that controls the security domain.
You can add a security domain either while you are selecting a host system to manage or when you are
already managing a host system (for step-by-step instructions, see the Console's online help). In either
case, you must provide the following information:
Security Domain Definition
Field Information Required
Security domain name
Meaningful name for the security domain. Can contain
alphabetic, numeric, and underscore characters.
Logon name
User ID for the security domain. This is the Guardian logon
name for the host system.
Logon password Password for the Guardian logon name.
TCP process
Name of the TCP process that is managing the selected host
address. One TCP process can manage multiple host addresses.
TCP processes can be spread across CPUs for load balancing.
If the Use Parallel Library TCP/IP check box is checked,
specify a TCP process that is enabled for Parallel Library
TCP/IP.
Search for business domains to manage
Leave checked to search the host system for business domains
owned by the logon name. Once found, you can select one or
more business domains to manage under the new security
domain. (Depending on the system, the search process can take
some time.) Uncheck this option if you plan to manage
business domains that are not yet defined.
Removing a Security Domain
To remove a security domain, select the name of the security domain in the tree, then choose menu item
View | Domains | Security. The dialog that appears allows you to choose security domains and remove
