CORBA 2.3.3 Getting Started Guide (NonStop CORBA 2.3.3+)

These files are in your NonStop EJB installation subvol and root installation directory. The defaults are
$SYSTEM.NSEJB and /usr/tandem/nsejb, respectively.
Stop the NonStop CORBA processes and the NonStop EJB applications from the Console.3.
Stop NSDAdminServer, NSDEnvironServer, and the PATHMON process (default name is $MY_PREFIX
DAPM ), if it exists. This will free NSDSRL, which is required to run the NonStop CORBA installation.

Install the NonStop CORBA 2.3 SDK using IPSetup (refer to Install NonStop CORBA on the Host System, making
the following changes to the standard instructions:
In Step 4, under Run the IPSetup Program, uncheck Use DSM/SCM.●
After installing to the DSV/ISV targets using IPSetup:
fup dup T0539pax from the ISV (default is $SYSTEM.ZORBSDK) to the NonStop EJB install
subvol (default is $SYSTEM.NSEJB)

fup dup insttype from the ISV to the NonStop EJB install subvol●

In Step 4, under Host Installation Installer Wizard, for the NonStop CORBA OSS directory for the pax file, use
the same OSS directory that you used for your NonStop EJB installation. The default pax file directory for
NonStop EJB is /G/SYSTEM/NSEJB.

Also in Step 4, under Host Installation Installer Wizard, do the following:
Uncheck NEW Installation so that your current NonStop EJB settings remain unchanged (namingdb,
nsdcfgdb, nsdom.ir, env.sh).

Uncheck Rebuild JVM. This leaves the Java orb.properties file in $NSD_ROOT/lib/
untouched by the NonStop CORBA installer.

In Step 5, under Host Installation Installer Wizard, use the same directories for Java OSS root directory and
NonStop CORBA SDK OSS root dir that were used for the NonStop EJB installation. The defaults for the
NonStop EJB installation are /usr/tandem/java and /usr/tandem/nsejb, respectively).

Click NO to the Do you want to build EMS templates? prompt.●
In Step 6, under Host Installation Installer Wizard, select the same existing Admin DB directory for NonStop
CORBA as the one used for NonStop EJB.

Install the NonStop Distributed Component Console on the
PC
The console installer installs the Compaq NonStop Distributed Component Console software and the Java Runtime
Environment (JRE) on your PC. You have the option to not install the JRE if you already have it installed.
Double-click on the icon for the Console Installer file (WS_SW\NDSCONSOLE.EXE) on your CD to start the
installation. Click Next when the welcome screen appears.

On the Choose Destination Location screen, click Next to accept the default location or browse to another location.2.
The Java Runtime Location screen has a checkbox to choose installing the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). Check
the box if you do not already have the JRE installed. If you already have the JRE installed, check the directory shown
to see if it is correct. If not, click the browse button to select the correct directory. Click Next to proceed.
