I. Basic Product Installation Instructions

1. Ensure that requirements for using this product are met

(see Section IV Product Requirements below).

It is critically important that you ensure that you have the

prerequisite software.

2. Ensure that prerequisites for the installation utility and any

product-specific installation requirements are met

(see Section V Installation Prerequisites below).

3. Install the NonStop CORBA 2.3 documentation

(on workstation).

Execute the file CD_DOCS\CORBADOC.EXE on your CD by double

clicking on it in the Windows Explorer. You will be prompted for

a directory where you want to place the files. To view the

documentation, open the home.htm file in the root directory where

you installed the files by double clicking on it from the

Explorer. This will open the home.htm file in a Web browser.

4. Install the NonStop Distributed Component Console

(on workstation).

Execute the file WS_SW\NSDCONSOLE.EXE on your CD by double

clicking on it in the Windows Explorer. You will be prompted for

a directory where you want to place the files. The default

directory is "C:\NSDConsole". If you want to enter a different

directory name, do so and continue. You will end up with the

following directory structure (<nsdconsole-dir> is the directory

in which you installed the console):

<nsdconsole-dir>

+--lib

5. Review the file USRGUIDE.PDF (in the subdirectory NSK_SW on this

CD) containing the IPSetup User Guide, which provides instructions

for using IPSetup, a utility provided on the CD that enables

installation of Independent Products. You need version 3.0 or

later of Adobe Acrobat Reader or Exchange to read or print the

IPSetup User Guide and NonStop CORBA 2.3 Documentation. Obtain

the Reader by downloading it from the following URL:

6. Use either of the following methods to move/copy files to the

Starting with C30.09 and D20.00 releases, the INSTALL^TEMPLATES TACL macro is distributed on the SUT and can be found in .ZINSAIDS.TACLMACS. To print the usage notes, LOAD the file containing the macro and, at the TACL prompt, type: INSTALL^TEMPLATES /OUT /HELP 2.

You will be prompted for a directory where you want to place the files. The default directory is "c:\jorblite". If you want to enter a different directory name, do so and continue. Note that the installer will update your PATH and CLASSPATH.

This will always allow pertinent data to be captured if an abend should occur. If the AUTORESTART value is greater than 0, Pathway will attempt a restart of the process. In case the reason for the abend is persistent, Pathway will stop trying to restart the process once it has hit the AUTORESTART limit.
