START Command
START Command
The START command initiates the operation of a LINE. The successful completion of
the START command leaves the LINE in the STARTED state. START is a sensitive
command.
Command Syntax for the START Command
The START command has the following syntax:
OUT file-spec
causes any SCF output generated for this command to be directed to the specified
file.
LINE line-name
designates the line to be started. If you omit line-name, the assumed line is
started (see the SCF Reference Manual for G-Series RVUs or SCF Reference
Manual for H-Series RVUs for details about the ASSUME command).
Considerations for the START Command
A nonerror completion of the START command indicates only that the subsystem
was able to initiate processing for START operation. It does not necessarily
indicate that the START operation was completed successfully.
A warning will be issued if the LINE is already in the STARTED state.
The START command will be rejected if the line is in the DIAGNOSING state.
Example of the START Command
The following SCF command activates a line named $CPL1:
- > START LINE $CPL1
START [ /OUT file-spec / ] [ LINE line-name ]
