Starting the CP6100 Line

Starting the CP6100 Line
You start a CP6100 line-handler process by starting it in the WAN subsystem.
START DEVICE Command
To start a CP6100 line-handler process, use the WAN subsystem SCF START DEVICE
command. The START DEVICE command has the following syntax:
device-name
is the device name of the CP6100 line-handler process.
Example
The following is an example of starting a CP6100 line device.
START DEVICE $ZZWAN.#CP6S1
For information on the syntax of this SCF command, see the START command in the
WAN Subsystem Configuration and Management Manual.
Once you have added and started the CP6100 line-handler process in the WAN
subsystem, you can alter the modifiers through the CP6100 subsystem using SCF
commands or Guardian procedure calls (see Section 8, Managing CP6100 Using the
Subsystem Control Facility (SCF) or the applicable 6100 programming manual). You
can also go back and make permanent changes to the CP6100 line-handler process
by altering the device configuration parameters when the CP6100 line-handler process
is added to the WAN subsystem. Refer to the WAN Subsystem Configuration and
Management Manual for information on altering profiles.
