BSC Modifiers
BSCASCII
This modifier specifies ASCII for the transmission code and control characters. Even if
the line uses EBCDIC, the application uses ASCII for its data and special characters.
The BSC protocol translates the output buffer from ASCII to EBCDIC and translates
data arriving on the line from EBCDIC to ASCII. Only transparent text is not subject to
translation.
BSCBAUD n
This modifier must be used whenever the BSCINTERNALCLK modifier is used; it
specifies the rate of the LIU-supplied transmission (Tx) clock. The baud rate modifiers
are
BSCCONNECTTO n
This modifier specifies the connect timeout, which is the amount of time the protocol
waits for DSR after DTR is asserted. Unless the modem is always on, the value should
be long enough to allow an operator to establish the connection. On the other hand,
when a server has opened the line and is waiting for a remote to dial in, a value of 0 is
recommended. If the value of n is 0, DSR is waited for indefinitely.
