USING CP6100: MANAGING LINES
The success of an application depends not only on good
programming, but also on careful management of each system and
its resources. Decisions the system manager makes can affect
dramatically the cost, performance, and reliability of
applications.
This section is for system managers who will manage CP6100 lines.
It discusses the following line management tasks and the tools
you use to perform them:
• initial software installation and line configuration
• starting and stopping lines
• changing or examining the configuration
• line monitoring and load-balancing
• problem determination
This section alludes to several Tandem products described in
other manuals. For example, it mentions the Communications
Management Interface (CMI), the SYSGEN program, and XRAY.
You'll need the manuals describing those products in order
to use them.
