CP6100 I/O Process Programming Manual
 Using CP6100: Managing Lines
To examine the results of your experiment, use XRAYSCAN with
 the following entity selection commands:
 • LINE, to report the throughput and other information for
lines. When XRAY reports the number of bytes transferred on a
CP6100 line, it is actually counting frames transferred
 between LIUs and 6101 controllers.
 • PROCESS, to report the CPU usage of I/O and application
 processes.
If you look at the XRAY User's Manual, you'll notice that XRAY
provides much more information than we've discussed here. For
example, you can measure message traffic between applications
and I/O processes, and examine many other aspects of system
resource use. The intent of this overview was to show some
simple measurements you can take to identify several major
 sources of performance bottlenecks.
The next few pages tell how to make various configuration
 changes.
