CP6100 I/O Process Programming Manual
 Using CP6100: Managing Lines
 PROBLEM DETERMINATION
When a 6100 subsystem or a CP6100 line behaves in an unexpected
or undesirable way, there are several ways to discover the source
 of the problem:
 • Console error messages. Component failures and attempts
at recovery produce these messages on the console. For
 | descriptions of the messages, see the System Messages Manual
 | for Tandem NonStop Systems.
 • DIAG6100. These diagnostics let you test controllers, LIUs,
and other components online. For information about the
 diagnostics, see your Customer Engineer.
 • CMI TRACE. The Communications Management Interface (CMI)
includes a trace facility. With it you can trace interaction
between CP6100 and the protocol task; you can also trace line
activity and protocol events. For more information about the
 | trace facility, see the Communications Management Interface
 | (CMI) Operator's Guide.
 • CPTEST. This tool provides an operator interface to the
protocol task. Instead of having an application issue
requests and receive responses, it lets you type requests and
see responses on the terminal. Appendix B of this manual
 describes CPTEST.
