Dictionary Manipulation Statements
The statements described in this section are used to manipulate objects in a DDL
dictionary. You use the DDL statements listed in Table 8-1 to perform operations on an
open DDL dictionary.
DELETE Statement
DELETE purges DDL objects from the currently open dictionary. The DELETE
statement can be used to delete a single object of a particular object type or a list of
objects of the same type.
constant-name
is the name of a constant in the open DDL dictionary. You can specify up to 50
constants.
def-name
is a DDL name that uniquely identifies an existing definition in an open DDL
dictionary. You can specify up to 50 definitions.

Statement Function
DELETE Deletes one or more DDL objects of a particular object type from
an open DDL dictionary.
EXIT Terminates an interactive DDL session.
OUTPUT Generates DDL, FUP, REPORT, or host-language source code
from an open DDL dictionary.
OUTPUT UPDATE Generates DDL source code from an open DDL dictionary to
delete or modify DDL objects.
SHOW USE OF Displays all DDL objects that refer to a specified DDL object.
