Connection Example
A map has four database input cards. Assume the connections specified
(datasource, userID, and so on) are the same for each:
In this example,
A connection will be made and a transaction started for Card 1.
Because Card 2 has Transaction > Scope set to Card, this initial connection
cannot be shared. Therefore, another connection will be made for this card.
For Card 3, because its OnFailure setting differs from the setting for Card 1,
the connection established in Card 1 cannot be reused. However, the
connection established for Card 2 is inactive (because Transaction > Scope
was set to Card and the card has completed) and, therefore, will be reused for
Card 3. A new transaction is started on this existing connection.
Card 4 is able to share the connection established by Card 1 and can be part
of the same transaction because all of its settings match.
If the map fails, the transaction containing both Card 1 and Card 4 will be rolled
back and the transaction for Card 3 will be committed.
