The adapters connect to the platform application program interface (API) and are executed from a server
by using the platform API. The goal of this modularization is to allow different adapters to be used
interchangeably with different servers.
The Design Studio is supported only on Windows NT. The Design Studio is included as part of the
NonStop DTE package and includes minor modifications required to support the NonStop platform as a
target execution platform.
Design Studio
The Design Studio includes the E-Business Broker Suite client components that you use to define your
data, create your maps, and manage the systems of maps that you create. Use the Design Studio to
develop and test under Microsoft Windows. Run the same interface maps on the server platform of your
choice, using the execution mode that best fits your integration architecture. Design work can be
centralized or dispersed. A single Design Studio can serve multiple servers. Or, multiple Design Studios
can be used to create interfaces for a single production environment. Each Design Studio includes:
♦ Type Designer – The Type Designer is a graphical facility for specifying, viewing, and editing data
objects definitions. You can use the Type Designer to define properties for text or binary data,
different character sets, data structures, and semantic validation rules. The Type Designer includes
an importer tool for automatically generating Mercator Type Trees for data that is described in
various popular formats.
