Chapter 4 - Upgrading From NonStop
DTE 5.0.3
All the maps built for the RVU 5.0.3 have to be rebuilt for the new RVU 6.7.1. To upgrade from
NonStop DTE 5.0.3 to 6.7.1, perform the following steps:
1. Back up all map, input, and user files to a separate directory.
2. Stop all running NonStop DTE processes.
NonStop DTE Tuxedo Transformation Server
To stop the NonStop Tuxedo application, enter the following command:
tmshutdown –y
or, alternatively, to shut down just the transformation servers, enter the following command:
tmshutdown –s mercserv
NonStop DTE CORBA Transformation Server
If you are currently running the NonStop DTE CORBA transformation server as a PATHWAY server
class, enter the following command to stop the server:
/usr/tandem/nsdte/examples/corba/stop_dtecorba.sh
In addition to stopping the server, stop any standalone processes. Performing a ps –e|grep dteorbserv
command identifies the standalone processes.
3. Follow the installation instructions in this guide to install the new version of NonStop DTE.
4. Restore your files from back-up. The directory structure has not changed from RVU 5.0.3.
If you are migrating from the NonStop DTE CORBA Transformation Server T0578V02 SPR AAB,
T0578V02 SPR AAC, or T0578V02 SPR AAE, all the NonStop DTE CORBA server client applications
need to be changed and recompiled. Refer to the NonStop CORBA migration considerations for more
details. If migrating from the NonStop DTE CORBA server T0578V02 SPR AAF, no change is
required in the client applications.
