Command-Driven Execution Model
The Mercator Command Server provides a command-driven capability for the
execution of integration maps. This model is normally associated with batch-
driven, one-off integration processes. A variety of methods exist for executing
maps in command mode such as:
Execution and utility commands typed at the command prompt
Execution commands invoked at the command prompt via a command
parameter file
From the Mercator Command Server, which provides a GUI enabling you to
load and run maps, and also override map settings (Windows platform only)
Execution commands defined in a batch file or shell script
Execution commands defined in a scheduling program
As mentioned earlier, by default, the map’s execution settings (such as MapAudit
and WorkSpace) are compiled into the runtime object. In all modes of execution,
it is possible to override almost all of these settings at runtime. In the case of
Command Server invocation, the overrides are supplied as parameters on the
command line. For example:
/mercator/bin/mercator /mercator/maps/mymap.hp
