SNMP Support

With the Mercator SNMP Agent, you can monitor and manage the status of the

Event Server and associated map events. The following functionality is provided

using the Mercator SNMP Agent:

♦ Configure thresholds

♦ Detect errors

♦ Monitor Event Server performance and help identify failure situations

♦ Notify SNMP-enabled enterprise management software of changes in the state

of:

! Connections

! Listeners

! Event Server

SNMP support is provided with the Event Server on all platforms.

The Mercator SNMP supports the following traps:

Trap Warnings and Errors

Map failure Signals when a map fails

State and Listener change Signals a change in state of the Event

Server or Listeners

Event Server/resource connection

failure

Notifies SNMP management software

that connection to the Event Server

and the resource could not be

established

Thresholds Signals when a map or connection

pending state threshold has been met
