The Type Designer title bar displays both the name of the active type tree and the
active window. The toolbar contains tools that are grouped according to function.
The status bar displays a descriptive message when the cursor is pointing to a
menu item or toolbar tool. The type tree window displays the type tree in a
classification hierarchy.
Type Tree Window
The type tree displays data types in a classification hierarchy in the type tree
window. By default, the types in a type tree are listed in alphabetical order.
Note The order of the types in the type tree window does not reflect the actual
composition of the data.
Properties Window
Type properties define the data composition and containment, the syntax
properties and the semantic validation rules of data objects. The Properties
window displays the definition of a type’s properties, which includes the type
Name, Class, Description, and other specific data characteristics. Other type
properties include the Initiator, Terminator, and Release characters, and a list
of where a type is used in the definitions of other types.
