TargetRule Settings
The data object specified in the output card defines the output data. The
TargetRule settings define how and where the output data is routed.
To define card-specific output data routing, define the TargetRule settings for
each output card. TargetRule settings specify where to send the data, and what
to do when an error occurs.
An output card represents an output target. The content of an output is a data
object such as a table of customer records in a database, or a message that
contains a business transaction, or a file of records. The content of an output card
is defined with the CardName, TypeTree and Type settings. These settings
define what the data is, but does not specify how to route the data. The Target,
Transaction, and Retry card settings are some of the TargetRule settings that
define how and where the output data is routed.
For detailed information on map and card settings, see the Map Designer
Reference Guide. For detailed information on type trees, see the Type Designer
Reference Guide.
