5 Enter the filename, or click (browse) to select the XML schema source.
Note You can also enter the Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) of the schema
document. This is usually the URL address of an XML schema located on
the Web.
6 Click Next.
7 Enter the name of the type tree (.mtt) to generate.
8 Click Next.
If errors or warnings occur when the type tree generates, a list appears. The
errors and warnings are saved in the xmlsimp.log file in the Mercator
installation directory. This file can be opened and analyzed in a text editor after
the import operation has completed. Note also that this log file gets deleted
and regenerated every time a new schema is imported.
Note If only warnings occur, you can still generate the type tree, but you
must inspect it before you generate it. Make certain that the reported
warnings do not interfere with the requirements necessary for a valid
instance document.
If errors occur, the type tree cannot be generated until the problem is
resolved. For example, if the XML schema source cannot be found, the
Importer Wizard – XML Schema dialog box displays a log file report as
shown in the following example:
